Design & Build

Black leather with a black fur collar is the version of this jacket that does not announce itself. Our red one is the loud option. This is the same build in a colour you can wear to work, and the fur reads as texture rather than as a statement.

The collar is real fox fur and it detaches. Both halves matter. Real fur has a depth and movement that synthetic does not, which you notice most on a collar sitting under your chin all day. And because it comes off, the jacket is not stuck being a winter coat in April.

The fill is polyester ball fibre rather than flat wadding. Ball fibre is spun into small clusters that behave more like down, trapping air in pockets instead of pressing into a mat. It is warmer than sheet wadding and it recovers its loft after being packed into a bag, which flat fill does not.

The shell is lambskin with a Napa finish, the softest way to finish a hide. On a padded jacket that matters more than usual, because a stiff shell fights the loft of the fill and the whole thing ends up feeling rigid.

Yes, genuine fox fur. It is removable, so the jacket works with or without it.

What is polyester ball fibre?
Synthetic fill spun into small clusters rather than pressed into a flat sheet. The clusters trap air the way down does, so it is warmer than sheet wadding and it springs back after being packed.

How do I care for the fur?
Detach it before cleaning the jacket. Shake it out rather than brushing it, keep it dry, and let it air rather than using heat. Real fur should not be machine washed or dry cleaned with standard solvents.

How do I care for the leather?
Keep it dry where you can and let it air after wearing. Wipe marks with a barely damp cloth. Do not machine wash. Condition the shell once a year.
