Design & Build

This is the lightest padded jacket we make, and that is the point of it. Most leather puffers are built for deep winter and become useless above about ten degrees. This one carries enough fill to take the edge off a cold morning without turning into a furnace by lunchtime.

If you ride year round in a mild climate, or you want something for spring and autumn rather than January, this is the one. If you need serious warmth, our V-Bomber with ball fibre fill is the better buy.

The collar snaps rather than zips or stands loose. A snap collar sits flat when open, which is what you want on a lighter jacket, and closes at the throat when the wind picks up without adding the bulk of a full stand collar.

The shell is 100% genuine lambskin, the softest of the common hides. On a quilted jacket that matters, because a stiff hide fights the loft of the fill and makes a light jacket feel like a shell.

How it is worn

Over a tee or a thin knit, with denim and boots. Because it is not bulky it works under a bigger coat in deep winter, which a thick puffer cannot do. Collar snapped shut in the wind, open the rest of the time.

Why lambskin rather than cowhide?
Lambskin is the softest of the common hides. On a light quilted jacket a stiff hide would fight the loft of the fill and make the whole thing feel rigid.

Are the pockets zipped?
Yes, the hand pockets zip. Open pockets cannot hold anything at speed.

How do I care for it?
Keep it dry where you can and let it air after wearing. Wipe marks with a barely damp cloth. Do not machine wash. Condition the shell once a year.
