Design & Build

This is a genuine leather aviator cap, not a fabric trapper hat with a leather trim. The shell is soft brown leather panelled over the crown with piped seams, shaped to sit close over the head and down over the ears. A snap chin strap holds it in place at speed.

What makes it convertible is the kit that comes off. The lower face mask snaps on across the nose and mouth with a cluster of ventilation eyelets so you can still breathe easily, and lifts away when you do not want it. The neck flap zips on to cover the back and sides of the neck, turning the cap into a full hood, and comes off just as fast for milder days. The ear flaps snap up out of the way or down for warmth.

Run every piece attached and it is a sealed aviator hood for winter riding; take the mask and neck flap off and it is a clean leather pilot cap. A soft inner lining keeps it comfortable against the skin, and the leather blocks wind far better than knit or fleece.
