Design & Build

This is a B3 with the collar rethought. The traditional pattern uses a big fur collar that stands up around your neck, which is warm and unmistakably a flight jacket. The Byron uses a lapel instead, so it folds flat across the chest like a coat.

What that changes is where you can wear it. A fur collar B3 is riding kit and weekend kit. A lapel version passes in an office or a restaurant without looking like you came off a bike, and it still has the shearling lining underneath doing the work.

The cuffs are shearling rather than plain leather. On a lapel jacket that is the detail that tells you what it actually is, because the collar no longer announces it.

Slightly less, because the collar does not close around your throat. The lining is the same, so the body of the jacket is just as warm.
