Design & Build

Five pockets is the practical reason to pick this one. Three outside and two inside, which is more than most shearling jackets bother with. On a winter jacket that matters, because you are wearing gloves and you want things where you can find them without unzipping.

The open hem cuffs are the other difference. Most shearling bombers use a knitted or elasticated cuff that grips your wrist. Open cuffs sit loose, which means you can push the sleeve up, wear a watch over the top, or get a glove underneath rather than over.

The collar is a faux shearling lapel rather than a standing fur collar, so it folds flat across the chest. That makes the jacket wearable indoors and over a collared shirt, which a standing collar fights.
