The Blacktop Gear V-Bomber Puffer is a men's padded leather bomber in 100% genuine lambskin, insulated with double goose down and finished with a detachable genuine fox fur collar. Available in eleven colours. Handmade to order in sizes S to 6XL at $310, with free delivery within the USA.
Design & Build
This is the warmest jacket we make, and the reason is the fill rather than the leather. Double goose down traps far more air per gram than any synthetic wadding, which is why it stays the standard for serious cold-weather kit. Wrapped in lambskin instead of nylon, you get that warmth without looking like you are dressed for the Arctic.
The collar detaches. That single feature is what makes the jacket wearable across three seasons instead of one. Fur on, it is a deep-winter coat that closes off the gap at your neck. Fur off, it is a clean leather puffer you can wear in spring without overheating.
The shell is 100% genuine lambskin, the softest of the common hides. On a padded jacket that matters more than usual: a stiff hide fights the loft of the down and makes the whole thing feel like armour. Lambskin moves with it.
Eleven colours, which is unusual at this price. Black, tan, white, navy blue, olive green, maroon, red, green and blue among them.

How it is worn
Over a knit or hoodie, with denim or chinos and boots. Collar on when it is genuinely cold, off the rest of the time. Black and tan are the easiest to wear; olive green and maroon are the ones people notice.

How warm is it compared to a shearling jacket?
Warmer. Goose down traps more air per gram than wool or any synthetic fill, and there is a double layer of it here. This is the warmest jacket we make.

Why lambskin on a padded jacket?
A stiff hide fights the loft of the down and makes a puffer feel rigid. Lambskin is the softest of the common hides, so it moves with the fill instead of against it.

Will down leak through the leather?
No. The down is held in an inner baffle layer, not against the hide, so there is nothing for it to work through.
How do I care for it?
Keep it dry and let it air after wearing. Wipe marks with a barely damp cloth. Do not machine wash, down needs specialist cleaning and the leather will not take it. Condition the shell once a year.
What sizes does it come in?
S through 6XL as standard, or built to your own measurements at no design charge. Size up if you plan to wear a thick knit underneath.
How long does a made-to-order jacket take?
2 to 3 weeks from order confirmation.
