The Blacktop Gear Black B3 Bomber is a men's RAF style flying jacket in real lambskin leather with a Nappa finish, lined in 15mm faux shearling. Full leather trim rather than PVC, buckle strap under the collar, adjustable waist buckles and a heavy duty brass zip. Handmade to order in sizes S to 5XL at $250, with free delivery within the USA.
Design & Build
Black is the reason to choose this one over our brown B3s. A B3 in brown reads as vintage flight gear, which is the point for a lot of people. In black it reads as a modern jacket that happens to be shaped like a B3, and it goes with far more of what you already own.
It also hides road grime in a way lighter hides cannot. If you ride daily rather than at weekends, that matters more than it sounds.
The lining is 15mm of faux shearling, roughly double what most padded jackets carry. The shell is real lambskin with a Nappa finish, so despite the weight of the lining the jacket stays soft and moves with you.
Trim is full leather, not PVC. Cuffs and hem take the most rubbing on any jacket, and PVC trim cracks there within a couple of seasons. A buckle strap under the collar holds the fur shut at speed, and waist buckles close the hem so cold air is not pushed up inside. Every seam is reinforced. The zip is heavy duty brass.

Is the leather real?
Yes. The shell is real lambskin with a Nappa finish. The shearling lining and fur collar are faux.
Why choose black over brown?
Brown reads as vintage flight gear. Black reads as a modern jacket, goes with more of what you already own, and hides road grime far better if you ride daily.
How thick is the lining?
15mm. Most padded jackets use 5 to 8mm, so this is roughly double.
Leather trim or PVC?
Full leather trim. PVC is cheaper to make but cracks at the cuffs and hem, which is where a jacket takes the most rubbing.
What does the collar strap do?
It holds the fur collar shut across your throat so it does not flap open at speed. Most modern B3 copies leave it off.
How warm is it?
Warm enough for winter riding. The B3 pattern was built for unheated aircraft at altitude.
How do I care for lambskin?
Keep it dry where you can and let it air after wearing. Wipe marks with a barely damp cloth. Do not machine wash. Condition the shell once a year.
