Design & Build

The hood is the reason to pick this over a standard B3. The original pattern gives you a large fur collar and nothing above it. That was fine in a cockpit, where you had a flying helmet on, and it leaves your head bare everywhere else.

Adding a hood to a B3 changes what the jacket is for. Collar up and hood on, you have the neck and head covered, which is what you actually want walking to a bike in January or standing outside in wind.

Tan is the version that shows the shearling. Against a pale wool lining a tan shell gives you a warm two tone look, where a black shell would flatten it into contrast. Tan also ages visibly, picking up wear at the cuffs and elbows the way a dark hide does not.

The shell is 100% genuine sheepskin leather. The lining is shearling throughout, which is what makes the jacket warm rather than just wind resistant.

How it is worn
