Design & Build
What separates this from a plain B3 is the strapping. There are buckle straps under the collar and adjustable buckles at the waist. Both were on the original flight jackets for a reason, and most modern copies drop them because they cost money to make.
The collar straps pull the fur closed across your throat at speed instead of letting it flap. The waist buckles cinch the hem so cold air is not pushed up inside the jacket when you are moving. On something you actually ride in, those two details are the difference between warm and nearly warm.
The shell is real lambskin with a Nappa finish, so it is soft from the first wear with no breaking in. The lining is ivory faux shearling, thick and soft throughout, which keeps the weight down compared with real wool and needs no special care.
Trim is leather rather than PVC. That matters at the cuffs and hem where a jacket takes the most rubbing, because PVC cracks there within a couple of seasons. The zip is heavy duty brass, every seam is reinforced, and there are two slanted hand warmer pockets.

How it is worn
Over a heavy sweater, with dark denim and boots. Collar buckled shut when it is cold, open and folded down when it is not. Black with an ivory lining is the easiest version to wear, so keep everything else plain.

Is the leather real?
Yes. The shell is real lambskin with a Nappa finish. The shearling lining and fur collar are faux.
Why faux shearling rather than real wool?
It is lighter, easier to look after and keeps the price sensible. Real shearling is warmer but considerably heavier and costs a good deal more.
What are the collar straps for?
They pull the fur collar closed across your throat so it does not flap open at speed. It is a detail from the original flight jackets that most modern copies leave out.
What do the waist buckles do?
