The Blacktop Gear Alligator Embossed Patch Vest is a men's motorcycle vest in real cowhide with an alligator-embossed surface, built specifically for club colours: no seam on the front, no seam on the back, and no front pockets, so patches sit completely flat. Design & Build

Most vests are designed first and patched second. This one is the other way round.

There is no seam down the front and none across the back, both panels are clean, uninterrupted leather. And there are no front pockets, which is a deliberate omission: front patches lie flat instead of bridging over a pocket edge. If you have ever had a patch pucker because it crossed a seam, this is the vest that solves it.

The inside pockets are sewn deliberately deeper than normal, for the same reason, so the stitching sits below where front patches land. Two inside pockets, one zippered.

The back hem is rounded by 5cm. That sounds cosmetic but it is practical: a square hem catches and lifts when you are leaning forward on the bars. A rounded one stays put.

Side zips let the vest out by up to 5cm per side, 10cm in total, which is enough to go from a t-shirt to a hoodie without changing size.

The hide is real cowhide at 1.1-1.2mm with the surface punched to give an alligator grain, in a vintage distressed finish. Available in brown waxed, red, black or white.

How riders wear it

Why are there no front pockets?
So front patches sit completely flat. A pocket edge makes a patch bridge and pucker. The pockets are inside instead, and sewn deeper than normal so their stitching stays below where patches land.

Is the front and back really seamless?
Yes, no seam down the front, none across the back. Both panels are clean uninterrupted leather, which is the whole point of this vest.

How much do the side zips let out?
Up to 5cm per side, so 10cm in total. That is enough to go from wearing it over a t-shirt to wearing it over a hoodie.
