The Blacktop Gear Beige Cross Zip B3 is a men's RAF style flying jacket in real lambskin leather with a Nappa finish, lined in 15mm faux shearling. It uses a cross zip rather than a straight one. Design & Build

The cross zip is what makes this one different. A standard B3 zips straight up the middle, which leaves a cold seam running down your chest at speed. A cross zip pulls the front across at an angle instead, so the leather overlaps and there is no gap for wind to find. Biker jackets have used the same idea for a century.

The lining is 15mm of faux shearling. Most padded jackets sit around 5 to 8mm, so this is roughly double. It is the reason the jacket feels substantial when you pick it up.

Beige is unusual on a flying jacket and it works for a specific reason. Most riding gear is dark, so a light jacket reads clearly at a distance and does not disappear against tarmac. It marks more easily than brown, which is worth knowing before you buy.

The shell is real lambskin with a Nappa finish, soft from the first wear. There is a buckle strap under the collar, one adjustable buckle on each side and buckles at the waist. Every seam is reinforced and the zip is heavy duty.
