The Blacktop Gear Orange Brown Quilted Puffer is a men's padded leather jacket in 100% genuine lambskin with a distressed finish, polyester down insulation, antique brass hardware and YKK zips throughout. Handmade to order in sizes S to 6XL at $220, with free delivery within the USA.

Design & Build

This is the loudest of our three quilted puffers. Orange brown is a tan with warmth pushed into it, closer to a saddle or a well used work boot than to a fashion colour. On a quilted jacket it works because the light catches the raised sections and leaves the seams darker, so the whole panel has depth instead of reading flat.

It is also the one that ages most visibly. Lighter hides take colour from sun and handling, so this jacket will not look the same in three years. If you want something that stays exactly as it arrived, our dark brown version is the safer buy.

Insulation is polyester rather than goose down. Not as warm gram for gram, but it keeps insulating when damp and needs no specialist cleaning. Down collapses when wet and does nothing until it dries out.

Hardware is antique brass, which sits naturally with the orange tone. YKK zips on the front and on both hand pockets. Interior chest pockets and a full polyester lining.

Will the colour change over time?
Yes, and more than a darker hide would. Sun and handling deepen it. If you want a jacket that stays as it arrived, choose the dark brown version.

Is this goose down or synthetic?
