The Blacktop Gear V-Bomber Puffer is a men's padded bomber in soft lambskin Napa leather with a removable genuine fox fur collar, heavy polyester ball filling, front zip and four pockets. Handmade to order in sizes S to 6XL at $280, with free delivery within the USA.
Design & Build
The collar is real fox fur and it comes off. Both halves of that matter. Real fur has a depth and movement that synthetic does not, particularly on a collar where you see it up close all day. And because it detaches, you are not stuck wearing a fur collar in April.
The fill is polyester ball fibre rather than flat wadding. Ball fibre is spun into small clusters that behave more like down, trapping air in pockets instead of compressing into a mat. It is warmer than sheet wadding and it recovers its loft after being packed, which flat fill does not.
The shell is lambskin with a Napa finish, the softest way to finish a hide. That matters more on a padded jacket than a plain one. A stiff shell fights the loft of the fill underneath and the jacket ends up feeling rigid.

Is the fur collar real?
Yes, genuine fox fur. It is removable, so the jacket works with or without it.
What is polyester ball fibre?
Synthetic fill spun into small clusters rather than pressed into a flat sheet. The clusters trap air in pockets the way down does, so it is warmer than sheet wadding and it springs back after being packed.
Is the leather real?
Yes, soft lambskin with a Napa finish.
Why does the collar come off?
A fur collar is right for January and too much for April. Detaching it turns a winter jacket into a three season one.
How does this compare to your goose down V-Bomber?
Same shape, different fill and collar. The goose down version is warmer and costs more. This one uses ball fibre, which keeps working when damp, and has a real fox fur collar rather than faux.
How many pockets does it have?

How do I care for the fur?
Detach it before cleaning the jacket. Shake it out rather than brushing it, keep it dry, and let it air rather than using heat. Real fur should not be machine washed or dry cleaned with standard solvents.

How do I care for the leather?
Keep it dry where you can and let it air after wearing. Wipe marks with a barely damp cloth. Do not machine wash. Condition the shell once a year.
