Design & Build

Three buckles is unusual. Most aviator jackets have one at the collar, some have two, and this has three: collar, cuffs and hem.

That means the jacket seals at every opening. The collar buckle holds the fur shut across your throat instead of letting it flap. The cuff buckles close over a glove. The hem buckle cinches the bottom so cold air is not forced up inside while you are moving. Undo all three and it hangs open like a coat.

The zip runs at an angle rather than straight up the middle, which is a moto detail rather than a classic B3 one. The leather overlaps across your chest instead of meeting edge to edge, so there is no cold seam down the front.

Black sheepskin with a pale fur lining is the version that reads as a leather jacket first and a flight jacket second. Most aviators come in brown, which announces itself.

The lining is faux shearling, which keeps the weight sensible. Real shearling on a women's cut lands heavily across narrower shoulders.
