Design & Build

The red is the whole point. Aviator jackets are almost always brown leather with cream fur, or black with black. Red against black is a combination nobody makes, and it changes how the jacket sits on you. Zipped up it reads as a plain black leather jacket. Collar up, or open, and the red does all the talking.

It also solves a practical problem with black outerwear, which is that it can look flat and heavy on a woman with a smaller frame. The red breaks the black into shapes and gives the jacket a waist.

The shell is real leather. The collar and lining are red faux shearling, which keeps the weight sensible. A full shearling aviator is a genuinely heavy garment, and on a shorter women's cut that weight sits badly across the shoulders.
